Dear Insiders,
We spend a lot of time looking for the “best”.
The best job. The best diet. The best workout. The best product. The best school.
But I’ve been thinking about how often “best” is actually a distraction.
A job can look perfect on paper and still be wrong for the life you have now. The salary may be good, the title impressive and the company reputable, but if the hours, commute or expectations no longer fit your priorities, is it really the best choice?
The same applies to something much smaller, like protein powder.
A product can have excellent nutrition credentials, but if you dislike the taste, it upsets your stomach or you simply cannot see yourself using it consistently, then those credentials do not matter much in practice.
That is the part we often miss.
We compare options as though there is one objectively correct answer, when the better question is usually:
Will this actually work for me?
That does not mean settling for less. It means taking context seriously.
Our bodies are different. Our responsibilities are different. Our priorities change. And a choice that suited us five years ago may not suit us today.
Sometimes the “best” option is not the most impressive one.
It is the one you can actually live with.

“The best choice on paper is useless if it doesn’t fit your body, your priorities or your life.”
